The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale’s refined design is the ideal synthesis of aerodynamics and style: the marque’s distinctive

radiator grille, between the two front light units, is topped by the long carbon fibre engine hood with its aggressive central air intake and two side air vents, derived from those used on the race-track GranTurismo MC Trofeo.

EXTERIOR

FEISTY DESIGN, NO FRILLS

The large opening in the engine hood is another functional feature that enhances the car’s aerodynamics, adding character to the front of the car without detracting from the elegance of the bodywork, with its sinuous lines that dialogue with the air through the front spoiler, the side miniskirts and the slots in the front fenders, and guide its flows all the way to the extractor, also creating downforce.

AGGRESSIVE LOOKING DETAILS

The rear of the GranTurismo MC Stradale is immediately recognisable, with centrally located exhausts framed by the massive extractor designed to ensure efficient outflow from under the body. With the addition of DRL (Daytime Running Lights) LED technology, the front lights come in a feisty matt black finish, while the tail lights, also featuring led lamps, sport an exclusive burnished finish.

THE GLEAM OF SPORTING PEDIGREE

The extremely dynamic look of the exteriors is underlined by the new 20” Trofeo Design wheels: as well as being lighter in weight, they incorporate design details typical of the Maserati tradition. A stylish finishing-touch is provided by the new triple-layer Grigio Lava (Pearl Grey) paintwork: this iridescent shade connects the curves of the bodywork to the aerodynamic openings with a beauty that changes with the light.



INTERIOR

FOUR FRONT ROW SEATS FOR A THRILLING MOTOR EXPERIENCE

While retaining all the characteristics of a fast, powerful, lightweight “street legal” racing car in its genes, the new GranTurismo MC Stradale delivers the same levels of comfort and spaciousness as the other models in the GranTurismo range: for the first time, a restyled four-seater interior is combined with the racing-derived exquisite aerodynamic lines and high-tech solutions.

MORE SPACE THEN EVER BEFORE

The interior offers unprecedented comfort for a car so close to the race-track world, where space is so often sacrificed to performance. The special rear shell of the front seats, upholstered in black leather and available on request in the same colour as the seats or in carbon fibre, affords additional leg room to those sitting in the rear seats, which are also redesigned in the same style as the front seats.

ERGONOMIC RACING STYLE SEATS

The new racing-style seats with integral headrest are designed to offer the best driving position and a high level of lateral restraint, together with unbeatable comfort. Soft Poltrona Frau leather is combined with a central section with a special Alcantara® finish, designed to set the pulses racing. Fine stitching around the edges of the backrest highlights the exquisite craftsmanship of the seats.

LIGHTER-THAN-LEATHER ALCANTARA DOMINATES THE INTERIOR

To convey the unmistakable “feel” of a racing-car interior, lavish use of Alcantara® is extended to a wide variety of zones, from the central console to the doors and the instrument panel brow, all with exquisite ornamental stitching. The racing connotations are also emphasised by the Nero Soft finish used on the trims, including the special bezel underneath the front seat headrests.

NEW, MORE SIMPLE INTERFACE

Such a high performance car requires an immediate, intuitive interface: the Sport and Race buttons on the central console allow the car’s handling to be quickly optimised for different conditions. The new, longer Trofeo Design gear-shift paddles afford maximum control of gear changes on any terrain, while the perforated aluminium pedals give a better driving “feel” and optimum control of the accelerator and brake.

NOTABLE INSTRUMENT PANEL WITH BLACK BACKGROUND BEHIND RACY STEERING WHEEL

The three-spoke steering wheel, upholstered in leather and Alcantara®, has been designed for improved control and a more ergonomic grip; the upper and lower sections have also been flattened for better clearance. The evolution of the interior has also transformed the instrument panel, where Maserati’s traditional blue background has been replaced by black, with completely new white graphics.



TECHNOLOGY

THRILLING POWER UNDERFOOT

The unmistakable roar that emerges from the exhaust tailpipes is generated by the famed 4.7 litre Maserati V8 engine, here in its top-range version, with a maximum power of 460 HP (338 kW) at 7,000 rpm. The torque, increased to 520 Nm at 4,750 rpm, makes this engine’s thrust and elasticity felt at once, while its throaty baritone is underlined by the permanent opening of the by-pass valves in Race mode.

60 MILLISECOND GEAR SHIFTS

While the GranTurismo offers five electronic handling modes, the MC Stradale has three: Auto, Sport and the exclusive “MC Race”. This setup is unique to this model, and is activated by pressing the “Race” button on the dashboard. This is all it takes to make the car even more aggressive and sporty, and the six-speed gearbox allows lightning-fast gear shifts in just 60 milliseconds.

LOWER SPORTY SETUP

The setting of the MC Stradale’s suspensions is 10 mm lower and they have been conceived and developed with the aid of racetrack technology. The springs and dampers have been stiffened to restrict lateral load transfers, while the stabiliser bar diameter has been increased from 24 to 25 mm at the front and from 21 to 23 mm at the rear to reduce the roll angle and gradient and optimise handling.

LIGHTER AND PEERLESS BRAKING DISTANCES THANKS TO BREMBO CARBON-CERAMIC BRAKES

Subjected to the most severe testing on the most famous circuits, the Brembo braking system with carbon-ceramic discs weighs around 60% less than the traditional system with steel discs. The front is equipped with 380 x 34 mm ventilated discs, operated by a powerful six-piston caliper. The rear disks measure 360 x 32 mm, with a four-piston caliper. The stopping distance is just 33 metres at 100 km/h, with an average deceleration of 1.2 g.
